Presentation Ceremony of the new Colorado Springs Fire Department's Heavy Rescue 17. January 16, 2015
Colorado Springs Fire Department invited the public, January 16 at 3PM, to attend the presentation ceremony of the new CSFD Heavy Rescue 17. The Colorado Springs Fire Department’s Honor Guard opened up the ceremony by presenting the flags. Attendees were asked to join in the Pledge of Allegiance. Colorado Springs Mayor Steve Bach and CSFD Fire Chief Christopher Riley spoke at the ceremony. During the ceremony, Mayor Bach provided the Oath to Honorary Firefighter to 4-year-old Caden Rose. Caden is the first person to receive this honor in the history of the department. Firefighters moved the vehicle from the bay, opened up all the compartments, and allowed the public to go inside the new apparatus. Refreshments were served following the ceremony.
