Major Traffic Accident HWY 94-Ellicott CO

On the afternoon of November 21st, 2012, Ellicott Fire Protection District responded to a report of a 2 vehicle traffic accident at Peyton Highway and Colorado Highway 94 in Eastern El Paso County. See location on Google Maps at http://goo.gl/maps/KNR4D
Two priority response medical helicopters were called to the scene by "Highway 94 Command". On the highway, the Toyota Camry was heavily damaged by high-speed impact made with a Chevrolet 2500 HD pick-up truck. Two patients were reported trapped in the wreckage at the scene. Mutual aid response was initiated from nearby Schriever Air Force Base's Engine 5 and Falcon Fire Protection District's Engine 313, to assist with extrication efforts and multiple-patient care on scene. Multiple ground ambulances and paramedics via AMR were also utilized on scene. Patient care was executed very effectively with multiple agencies working together at the accident scene. Several State Patrol Units and El Paso County Sheriff Units were on scene for safety and highway traffic control. Colorado State Patrol Officers worked on the accident investigation and cause.
