Date of Incident: March 18, 2015
Around 13:26 CSFD was dispatched for a possible injured hiker at Garden of the Gods. Emergency vehicles staged in the parking lot off of the 650 block of Ridge Road at the "High Point Overlook" parking lot 9. The patient fell off a rock formation located off of "Old Colorado City Trail." The patient did not have any climbing gear, fell approximately 20 feet and reportedly lost consciousness. Rescue crews from Engine 5 and Engine 13 were able to quickly make access to the male patient, package him up with full medical care, and transport him up to the parking lot. American Medical Response Ambulance then transported him to a local hospital.
Units on scene: Colorado Springs Engine 5 and 13, Brush 13, Battalion Chief 3, American Medical Response Ambulance 75, and Colorado Springs Police Officers
