Black Forest Fire Day 1
On June 11, 2013, Black Forest Fire Protection District, located in El Paso County, Colorado, was dispatched to a wildland fire. Because of heat and high wind speeds, this fire quickly got out of control. Multiple agencies were requested for mutual aid. There is zero containment at this time. Many residents have already been evacuated because of the size of the fire.

Updates: This massive wildland fire incident has scorched approximately 16,300 acres of the Black Forest Area, which is located North of Colorado Springs, Colorado, as of the afternoon of June 14, 2013. This fire disaster has become the most destructive fire in the history of the State of Colorado.

BLACK FOREST FIRE INCIDENT-DAY ONE, near Colorado Springs, on the afternoon of June 11, 2013.
This is looking north from the intersection of Shoup Road and Milam Road in Black Forest, Colorado. Dark, aggressive smoke plumes started moving through the area, during the early stages of this massive blaze, which took ten days of many national, regional, and local fire fighters, to contain it's fury.
