Basement Fire-Cimarron Hills-CHFD
On October 7th, 2013, around 6:15 PM, Cimarron Hills Fire Department was dispatched to a report of an explosion in the home of a basement on Richmond Drive. CHFD Ladder Truck 1331 and CHFD Squad 1371 responded. Once on scene, personnel reported smoke coming from the basement of a 2-story residence. It was then called a working structure fire, which brought in Peterson Air Force Engine 9, Colorado Springs Air and Light Unit, and Pikes Peak Fire Rehab Unit. 1331 took a 5 inch water supply line to a hydrant across the street. An interior attack was done by 1331 by a single preconnect line and Peterson Engine 9 took a preconnect line into the home as well. The fire was brought under control quickly and the house was ventilated by crews. CSFD Air Unit arrived on scene and was used to refill firefighter SCBA bottles on the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
