Trailer Fire Incident 2400 block of Wayland Place
April 9, 2015
Around 11:00 P.M. Colorado Springs Fire Department and Cimarron HIlls F.D. were dispatched to a report of a possible tractor-trailer fire near the Care and Share Building on Preamble Point. First arriving units on scene reported smoke and fire showing from a trailer, but could not quickly access it's location. After further investigation, CSFD Fire Engine 7, made access to the fire from a business located on Wayland Place. Cimarron Hills Fire Chief 1300 established command of the scene. Firefighters cut the fence to make better access for fire hoses. Engine 7's crew initiated fire attack on the well involved trailer. The fire was knocked down quickly. CSFD Engine 17 laid in line to establish a water supply from a nearby hydrant, to Engine 7. CSFD Rescue 17 raised their light tower to establish scene lighting. Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the trailer, with no damage to the nearby building and storage containers. No injuries were reported on this incident and fire investigators were called to the scene.
